5 fun experiences to celebrate Father's Day with your Michigan dad

Not all dads are the same, and neither are yearly Father’s Day gifts. With the holiday fast approaching, daughters and sons are in search of the perfect gift to put a smile on dad’s face. From fun outdoor activities to simpler gifts, here are some of the best ideas to celebrate Michigan dads this Father’s Day:

Baseball game

If your father is a sports fan, a trip to Comerica Park for a Detroit Tigers game is sure to brighten his day. The sounds of crowds cheering and the crack of the bat with the strong smells of hotdogs and stadium food can’t be beaten. The Tigers play away this weekend, but they return for six consecutive home games beginning Monday, June 19, and ending June 25. They are scheduled to play the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins. For more, click here.

Drive an Indy car

If your father is a fan of cars — maybe even still geeked up from the Detroit Grand Prix — book him a spot at the Michigan International Speedway, where he’ll have the chance to drive an Indy-style race car. Hosted by Virgin Experience Gifts, a one-hour training session will be given prior to the race. The driver will then get on the track for a timed session and communicate with a racing instructor through a radio system. There are eight packages available starting at $495.
