Cedar Point’s Top Thrill 2 testing continues ahead of May opening
SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) – Cedar Point’s Top Thrill 2 is continuing it’s testing phase ahead of its grand opening in May.
The new ride is deemed to be the tallest and fastest triple-launch roller coaster in the world, according to a press release from Cedar Point.

According to the release, engineers from Zamperla, the ride’s manufacturer, are programming the ride sequence, fine-tuning the motor launch system, testing rider safety systems and running the train through its paces.
According to the release, all three of Top Thrill 2’s 20-passenger trains will be programmed to operate together.
There will also be additional ride commissioning, safety testing and state licensing, according to the release.

According to Cedar Point, Top Thrill 2 is set to open to the public on the park’s opening day, May 4.
