CDPHE sends out vaccine notification

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) sent a text and email notification to parents and guardians with children from four to six years old whose records in the state system show their children may be overdue for the MMR vaccine.

“Measles is extremely contagious and can cause severe health complications, but it is almost entirely preventable,” said Dr. Rachel Herlihy, state epidemiologist for CDPHE.

To get you or your child the MMR vaccine, visit your primary care doctor, any public health agency or a local pharmacy.
