CB Dollaway vs Tom Lawlor at UFC 100

A middleweight showdown between “The Ultimate Fighter” season seven runner-up CB Dollaway and season eight contestant Tom Lawlor at UFC 100 is nearly set.

Sources close to the fight informed MMAWeekly.com that the July 11 bout has been agreed to and its paperwork is nearly complete. The fight will take place on the under card of the UFC’s centennial event in Las Vegas.

Dollaway, 25, last appeared at UFC 92, where he defeated former wrestling opponent Mike Massenzio by strikes in the first round. It was his second consecutive victory since emerging from TUF 7. He was stopped short in his quest to win the show after succumbing to an armbar at the hands of Amir Sadollah, who caught him with the submission in the show’s semi-finals.

A collegiate wrestling standout at Arizona State University, Dollaway has since redoubled his efforts at Arizona Combat Sports, training with a strong group of the sport’s up-and-comers at the gym’s home in Tempe.

Lawlor, 25, last ground out a unanimous decision victory over TUF 8 castmate Kyle Kingsberry, using his wrestling base to negate Kingsberry’s striking attack at the show’s finale. The fight was his first since losing to eventual winner Ryan Bader in the first official bout of the show.

A three-time NCWA All-American at the University of Central Florida, Lawlor trains at Jungle MMA in Orlando, Fla. with TUF 2 alum Seth Petruzelli, and carries a 5-1 professional record with one no contest.
