Catepillar, Verizon and 3M are the Yahoo Finance charts of the day
Caterpillar (CAT): Shares climbing here, up around 3.4%. The construction equipment maker and global growth name beat on both the top and bottom line, and raised its 2018 profit outlook as well. Verizon (VZ): Shares higher here, up around 1.6%. The telecom giant and our corporate parent reported a strong earnings and revenue beat, with retail postpaid connections up by 260,000. 3M (MMM): Shares lower here, down around 6.2%. The conglomerate and post-it maker earnings were basically in-line with estimates, but it trimmed its full-year profit forecast.
