Cat Country 98.7’s Spring Jam raises over $28,000 for the Santa Rosa Kids' House

Cat Country 98.7’s Spring Jam 2024 raised $28,307 for the Santa Rosa Kids' House. This year’s show featured country super group Parmalee, George Birge and Kidd G at Juana’s Pagodas and Sailors Grill in Navarre.

Cat Country presented the check to Santa Rosa Kids' House at a recent Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners meeting. Chairman Wendall Hall says this money will go to help further the mission of the Kids' House in Santa Rosa County.

Spring Jam was created in 2018 and has now raised over $126,000 for the Santa Rosa Kids' House. Cat Country 98.7, in partnership with Juana’s Pagodas in Navarre, won the 2018 Friend in Need Award from the National Association of Broadcasters.

Bellview Middle hosts Reimagine Bellview outreach event

Reimagine Bellview takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Bellview Middle School, 6201 Mobile Highway.

Reimagine Bellview is an outreach event where churches, businesses, ministries and community agencies come together for a few hours to bless those who feel a bit hopeless.

The festival will have children's activities, including inflatables, face painting, games, popcorn, coloring contests, carnival rides, free haircuts and more. The event also will give away 20,000 pounds of food, in addition to diapers and clothing. Free HIV testing will be offered, and free lunch will be served.

Escambia County seeks board of adjustment volunteer

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is seeking Escambia County residents interested in volunteering to be considered for an at-large appointment to the Escambia County Board of Adjustment.Be aware that resumes submitted to a BCC agenda for consideration will become part of the official minutes and are subject to public records requests.

Members serve a two-year term of office and meet at 8:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Travel is not required. Financial disclosure is required.

Escambia County residents interested in being considered for a possible appointment to the Escambia County Board of Adjustment to begin serving in May 2024 are asked to submit a resume and letter indicating their desire to serve by close of business on Friday, May 3.

Volunteer sought for Tourist Development Council

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is seeking Escambia County residents interested in volunteering to be considered for an appointment as a “hotel/motel industry” representative on the Escambia County Tourist Development Council.Escambia County residents interested in serving on the Tourist Development Council are asked to submit a resume and letter indicating their desire to serve on the council by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 8. Resumes and letters should be emailed to boardapply@myescambia.com or mailed to: Jose Gochez, program manager, Escambia County Administration, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, FL 32502.

The Escambia County Tourist Development Council was created in accordance with Florida Statutes through County Ordinance 77-34, and revised by County Ordinance 89-7. The council’s duties are to review each proposal for expenditure of funds to determine if it complies with the Tourist Development Plan as outlined in the ordinance. The ordinance provides that the council is to review all expenditures of revenue from the trust fund; expenditures that the council believes to be authorized are to be reported to the county commission and the Florida Department of Revenue.
