Casey urges Pennsylvania veterans to apply for health care benefits

(WHTM)– Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senator Bob Casey made a stop in Harrisburg to make sure veterans know about the health care benefits for them.

Casey met with vets at American Legion Post 1001, touting the “Honoring Our Pact” act – which he sponsored. The act expanded health care benefits for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits while deployed overseas.

Casey says many veterans don’t know about this.

“By one estimate, there’s about 100,000 Pennsylvania veterans who most likely are eligible buy haven’t had approved claims yet, so we have to continue to get that number up of those who are getting these claims,” Casey said.
