CLEVELAND (WJW) — For the second night in a row, only student protesters will be permitted to stay on-site at Case Western Reserve University

That students are demonstrating there in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

Jad Oglesby, a protest organizer and member of Students for Justice in Palestine, said, “We plan to stay here until our demands are met. We plan to stay here as long as it takes.”

The university previously required that the protesters take tents down for safety reasons and because administrators won’t allow protests to potentially interfere with normal school operations.

Classes are finished at this time and most students are focused on finals.

However, this group is using this time and space to support Palestinians in Gaza and call for the end of the Israel-Hamas war.

They also demand that Case divulge and divest any investments in Israel.

Organizers are standing in solidarity with those suffering in Gaza and with students across the country demanding that their demands be heard.

Acting Vice President of Student Affairs Peter Whiting said, “We’ve made it clear that we have community standards and if there are students who don’t essentially follow our expectations for student code of conduct, there can be consequences.”
