CARVER − A Carver woman died Wednesday after her crashed into a utility pole in Carver, WCVB reported.

The car crash near 240 Main St./Route 58 happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. March 27 and caused a temporary power outage in the area.

The 56-year-old driver was the only person in the car, WCVB reported. She was taken by Carver first responders to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, where she was pronounced dead.

The woman's name has not been released.

A section of Route 58 was closed while investigators were at the crash scene. First responders said one lane had been reopened to traffic at 2:15 p.m. that same day.

Carver police and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are investigating the cause of the crash.
