Carson Wentz has inspirational message: 'This will not stop me'

Carson Wentz has a long road to recovery from a torn ACL, but he has a good attitude for it.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback took to Twitter to post a video to think everyone for the well wishes, and he had a simple message.

“This will not stop me going forward,” Wentz said. “I will come back stronger than ever. I will use this as motivation.”

Wentz finished the video by repeating that he would be back stronger than ever.

Wentz made many references to his religious faith, and said there was a bigger reason for his injury.

“If we got everything we wanted in life, it would be a disaster,” Wentz said.

Wentz also said he has confidence in his replacement Nick Foles and the coaching staff to keep winning without him. The Eagles are 11-2, which is the best record in the NFC.

“We still have something special,” Wentz said.

There will be concern going forward about how to handle Wentz’s return. Dr. James Andrews, in comments to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, said the timetable for return should be 9-12 months, and too many players want to rush that timetable. The Eagles have to be careful to not bring Wentz back before he’s ready, because he’s a young superstar who should be the foundation of that team for many years.

It will be a while before we see Wentz on the field again, but everything that happens between now and then with him will be a huge story.
