Carrie Underwood Shares an X-Ray of Her Wrist After Breaking It in a Fall

Last November, Carrie Underwood injured herself while falling on the steps of her home. The fall was so bad that she broke her wrist and, she later revealed, required between 40 and 50 stitches on her face.

"Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody...I’ll be alright...might just take some time...glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me," she wrote on Twitter at the time.

Since then, she's kept fans updated on her recovery. And as of Monday, the singer appears to have made some major steps in her recovery from her fall. Uploading to Instagram a photo of an X-ray of her wrist with metal screws, she wrote, "Last check up on the old wrist this morning!! Thanks, Dr. Wurth and my PT angel, Renee, a.k.a. “Bulldog” for fixing me up!!! 😉 I’m good to go!"

Underwood hasn't detailed exactly what her recovery process has been like, but it's not uncommon for treatment for a broken wrist to include physical therapy. Usually that comes after a period of keeping the wrist immobile in a cast or splint or with the help of surgically implanted pins, rods, or plates. After that time, physical therapy helps relieve stiffness and restore normal movement to the wrist and hand, the Mayo Clinic explains. But it can take months to fully heal.

Although her wrist may be healing quickly, Underwood has yet to give an update on the condition of her face. Earlier this month she wrote a letter to her fan club saying she might look a "bit" different when she steps in front of the camera due to the stitches. “I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal," she wrote earlier in January. "But, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”
