Caroline Flack is back in the news four years after her death, after the police said they would look again at the lead-up to the decision to charge the late star with assault.

Love Island presenter Flack took her own life in 2020 at the age of 40. It came after she had been arrested for allegedly assaulting Lewis Burton, her boyfriend at the time. The Crown Prosecution Service had said the TV star should be cautioned but she ended up being charged.

However, the Metropolitan Police has said it’s now having another look at events as “new witness evidence may be available”.

Flack’s death sparked an outpouring of grief, with friends, family and fans telling of their heartbreak. At the time, Burton said on Instagram that his heart was "broken" and that they'd "had something so special".

"I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking," he wrote. "I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday."

"I love you with all my heart," he added.

Where is Lewis Burton now?

Former tennis player Burton is now 32 and has a business called Twenty3Club.

He co-founded the company, which according to its website is a "one-stop destination for luxury travel, unparalleled hospitality, and personalised concierge services".

Burton is now in a relationship with Lottie Tomlinson, the younger sister of One Direction star Louis Tomlinson. The pair are thought to have started dating towards the end of 2020 and they later got engaged during a romantic trip to Paris.

Sharing pictures online of Tomlinson wearing her ring, Burton gushed: "I can’t wait to marry you @lottietomlinson."

The couple are now turning their thoughts to planning their wedding, with Tomlinson telling Yahoo earlier this year that they had a destination in mind.

"We haven’t done any proper planning as of yet," she said. "We know where we’d like to do it, but we haven’t set anything in stone yet. I think we will start to think about the planning soon. So excited!"

Tomlinson also said she’d be wearing two different dresses, confessing: “I wanna milk it! I want my long dress for the reception and then a cute mini for the party."

Burton popped the question to Tomlinson in Paris in November. Looking back at the moment, Tomlinson said: "I was literally on cloud nine. I just jumping up and down screaming for a good 10 minutes. I was even shocked at how happy it made me."

She added: "It was definitely in our plan to get engaged and married in the next few years but I had no idea when, he’d thrown me off guard a few times and implied it’d be the following year. So I was shocked and so excited."

Father of one

Burton and Tomlinson share a son. Lucky entered the world in August 2022, with Burton posting a picture on Instagram showing him leaving the hospital with a car seat in his hands.

He later shared more snaps of Lucky as he and Tomlinson told fans: “Our perfect creation. Introducing our son, our world, love of our lives.”

Proud dad Burton regularly shares images of Lucky on social media. Last summer he shared several pictures of the tot and his cake as he turned one, posting: “Happy 1st Birthday son… Love you forever.”
