The CARE Center hosting 8th annual Brave Ball gala

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The CARE Center is putting on its 8th annual Brave Ball gala on Saturday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m. to show support for the fight against child abuse.

The month of April is known as child abuse awareness month and is a time of prevention and raising awareness of the dangers that revolves around child abuse. National Children’s Alliance says that more than 600,000 children are abused in the United States each year.

A gourmet dinner and open bar will be provided, including live entertainment, live and silent auctions, a “stock the bar” raffle and show cases from new vendors.

The Brave Ball gala is a black-tie-optional event but it is encouraged to wear shades of blue to represent the stand against child abuse.

At the end of the evening, a moving narration will be told by a brave child survivor, bringing to light the bitter cold realities behind child abuse, but to also celebrate the power and positive change that community support can bring.

The gala will be held at the Omni Hotel in OKC, and valet parking will be available. Registration to purchase tickets will close on Sunday, April 7.
