Cardenas Family Foundation awards scholarship

May 14—The Cardenas Family Foundation has announced Uriel Rosales as the recipient of its 2024 scholarship.

According to the foundation, Rosales's story is one of inspiration, shaped by the values instilled in him by his family and driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence.

According to Roslaes, he grew up in a household where opportunities were limited due to immigrant status, and he witnessed firsthand the power of hard work and determination. From a young age, he said he was drawn to agriculture, learning invaluable lessons in responsibility and perseverance from his father.

The foundation said Rosales's interest in this year's scholarship beautifully encapsulates his drive and determination.

"I have always had that hustler ambition in me since I was a child," Rosales said. "I would see my sisters and parents work hard day in and day out to chase the American dream and knowing that they did not have much to pull from motivates me every day to keep pursuing something bigger than just myself."

Marc Cardenas, the Vice President of the Cardenas Family Foundation, emphasizes education's transformative impact.

"Our foundation is committed to empowering students like Uriel to fulfill their potential and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond," Cardenas said. "Uriel's dedication and resilience serve as a shining example of the spirit and determination we seek to support."

In awarding Uriel Rosales the 2024 scholarship, the Cardenas Family Foundation said they recognized his academic achievements and determined commitment to personal growth and community betterment. Rosales's resilience, leadership and passion exemplify the values dear to the Cardenas Family, who said they are confident Rosales will continue to inspire others and positively impact the world around him.

"The Cardenas Family Foundation stands proudly behind Uriel, offering support and encouragement every step of the way," Mark Cadenas said. "We believe his dedication and determination will propel him to heights, and we eagerly anticipate his incredible achievements."

Uriel Rosales plans to attend Texas Tech University and major in Agriculture Communications and Human Science.
