Only Murders in the Building star Cara Delevigne has issued her thanks to the firefighters that saved her cats from her house fire.

The model and actress's Los Angeles mansion burned to the ground this weekend (March 15), while Delevigne was in London for a stage role as Sally Bowles in Cabaret at London's Kit Kat Club.

According to The BBC, Delevigne posted to her Instagram to lament the loss of her pet cats, but has since updated fans with some good news.

"My heart is broken", Delevigne wrote, adding, "Life can change in the blink of an eye. So cherish what you have."

Shortly after, however, Delevigne posted that her cats had been rescued, and thanked the firefighters for their service.

"They are alive!" she wrote, referring to her pets. "Thank you to the firefighters."

She also extended her thanks "from the bottom of my heart... all the firefighters and people that showed up to help".

Firefighters were called to the scene of the building on Friday, located in LA's Studio City, at 4am local time, where it took 94 of them to stop the blaze.

According to an incident report, the fire started at the back of the house and rapidly spread to the attic, eventually causing the roof to collapse.
