Car taken at gunpoint from East Memphis restaurant

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three suspects are on the run after a car theft in the parking lot of The Capital Grille on Poplar Avenue in East Memphis.

One suspect pulled two handguns on the victim during the incident, which happened at 1:35 in the afternoon Wednesday.

Police say one of the supects broke the sunroof of a 2021 Infiniti and crawled inside carrying a programmer.

As the victim approached the vehicle, police say another suspect pointed one of his two guns at the owner.

They stole the Infiniti, with one of the suspects driving away in a Nissan Maxima.

The 60-year-old victim works as a valet at the restaurant.

He said he was in fear for his life when the guns were pointed at him, and doesn’t feel anything will be done about it.
