‘The car is inside my room, sir’: DUI suspect flees police, crashes into house

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A police chase in Georgia ended with the driver slamming into a house with people inside.

The Cobb County Police Department released body camera video from the incident, which happened last month in Kennesaw.

An officer tried to pull over the suspected DUI driver, but he took off. The officer lost sight of the car during the chase and entered a nearby neighborhood, where he was flagged down by a resident.

Multiple people told the officer a car collided with a home, leaving a giant hole in a bedroom at the back of the house.

One of the home’s occupants told the officer, “The car is inside my room, sir.” He said he was underneath the car at one point.

The suspected DUI driver climbed out of the hole and could not answer the officer when he was asked if there was anyone else in the car with him. He was taken into custody, but police did not identify him or what charges he faces.
