Car crashes into Queens KFC in attempted carjacking

A thief running from police tried to carjack a person in Queens, but the vehicle ending up crashing through the front window of a KFC, police said Monday.

Cops tried to stop the man after he allegedly shoplifted over $1,000 of merchandise from a Rite Aid.

The thief fled from the cops and approached a driver on Parsons Blvd. near Union Turnpike in Hillcrest around 2 p.m. and tried to steal their car, police said.

The driver resisted and during the chaos, the car somehow rammed into the fast-food joint, according to cops.

The driver was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, and the suspected thief was arrested.

No one else was injured.

Charges against the shoplifter were pending Monday evening.
