No one hurt after Tesla crashes into martial arts schools

A local martial arts school is back open after the driver of a Tesla crashed into the Pine Township business on Monday night.

It was around 8:30 p.m. when a driver slammed into the front windows at Rothrock’s Kung Fu and Tai Chi on Perry Highway.

The front windows were shattered, sending glass flying inside, where an adult kung fu class was ongoing.

“There wasn’t any kids so that was a good thing,” said business owner and master instructor Ernest Rothrock.

No one was hurt.

The broken windows have since been boarded up, with partitions in place to cover the damage inside. Classes resumed on Tuesday.

Rothrock wasn’t there at the time of the crash but said his manager reported that police and fire crews assisted in cleaning up the shattered glass.

“They didn’t have to, but they did.”

Northern Regional Police told Channel 11 that the driver was picking up his son and that the crash was purely accidental. No charges are being filed.
