Car crashes into Holmdel Chipotle while trying to park; restaurant closed for repair

HOLMDEL - A car crashed into Chipotle Tuesday afternoon, leaving the restaurant closed until the damage can be repaired, police said.

About 4:05 p.m., a vehicle attempting to park alongside Chipotle on Route 35 hopped the curb and crashed into the building, according to Holmdel Police. The car penetrated the interior of the building, but there were no injuries inside of the restaurant.

The driver of the car, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Bayshore Hospital after complaining of neck pain, police said. Holmdel First Aid and Holmdel Fire responded to assist.

According to Holmdel Construction, Chipotle will remain closed until the damage to the building can be repaired, police said.
