Car bursts through front of Saugus nail salon

A car crashed through a Saugus business Wednesday, scattering debris throughout the store.

Emergency crews could be seen working to pry the white Merdedes luxury E-class sedan out of the front of Lavanda nail salon on Broadway around noon.

A tow truck removed the car shortly around noon, leaving a gaping hole in the center of the nail salon facade behind. Debris of glass and brick covered the floor.

Boston 25 News is working to learn if anyone was hurt in the crash.

Avendus, the top investment bank for venture deals in India, confirmed on Wednesday it is looking to raise up to $350 million for its new private equity fund. The new fund, called Future Leaders Fund III, will enable the Mumbai-headquartered firm to write larger checks and maintain a meaningful position in the startups it backs, said its managing partner Ritesh Chandra in an interview with TechCrunch. TechCrunch reported in early April that Avendus was putting together a plan to raise a new fund.
