Captain America: Brave New World has released some first-look imagery of Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford in action.

Pencilled in for a February 2025 premiere, this fourth Captain America blockbuster finds Mackie's Sam Wilson really embracing the stars and stripes shield passed down to him by Steve Rogers, while Ford replaces the late William Hurt as General Thaddeus Ross.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Mackie himself unveiled some Brave New World footage at CinemaCon yesterday (April 11). It showed the newly elected US president Ross welcoming Wilson into the White House.

Addressing the Phase 5 movie's storyline, actor Mackie told Entertainment Weekly: "It made more sense for it to be more of a grounded espionage action movie as opposed to aliens and airplanes coming through portals and shit. Even though I've been in so many of them and have seen it all now, the opportunity for Sam to really establish himself as a true action star and Avenger comes with this movie.

"One of the biggest conversations we had from the beginning was for this not to be Falcon and the Winter Soldier — Part 2, for this to be its own movie with its own story, with its own characters."

Meanwhile, the Synchronic and Twisted Metal star also delved into the Aldous Huxley-inspired title of the movie.

"The title implies that there's a new, bigger enemy now; there's a new frontier that we have to conquer," explained Mackie.

"From Captain America: The First Avenger to [Avengers] Endgame, the enemy was always good versus bad. Now that we've conquered that, where do we go from here? When the bad guys reappear, in what form are they reappearing?"

Captain America: Brave New World arrives in cinemas on February 14, 2025. Meanwhile, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is streaming exclusively on Disney+.
