Captain America: New World Order is bringing back another original star from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Liv Tyler returning to the franchise.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is reprising her role as Betty Ross from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, where she starred alongside Edward Norton in what was the second film in the MCU.

Tyler joins the already-announced Tim Blake Nelson in reprising their role, with the latter playing Samuel Sterns in the same film. The role of General Thaddeus Ross, Betty's father, has been recast, with Harrison Ford replacing the late William Hurt.

Speaking about the acquisition of Ford in the role, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed that it had been a long-held ambition to secure his services in the franchise.

"This has been a dream for years, ever since Jon Favreau cast Harrison Ford in Cowboys and Aliens," he said. "I was always very jealous of that, so to have him finally in the MCU is just incredible. It's like, I can cross that off the wishlist.

"With Harrison, you think about Air Force One and some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger," he added. "There's a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we'll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the President in a way that is just incredible."
