Capitals F Oshie has surgery for broken clavicle

Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie will be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair his fractured right clavicle, the team announced Sunday.

The team didn't put a timetable on his return, but he is expected to miss the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Oshie was injured Thursday in Game 4 of the first-round series with the Carolina Hurricanes. He was hit in the back by Hurricanes forward Warren Foegele and crashed into the boards, shoulder first.

Foegele received a two-minute minor penalty.

Oshie, 32, had 54 points (25 goals, 29 assists) in 69 games in the regular season. He had a goal and an assist in the series against the Hurricanes before suffering the injury.

The Capitals lead the series 3-2 and will meet the Hurricanes in Game 6 on Monday night in Raleigh, N.C.
