Canada police think body parts mailed to Vancouver are linked to dismemberment case

TORONTO - Police say body parts mailed to two Vancouver schools were mailed from Montreal, and they believe the parts are linked to the killing and dismemberment of a Chinese student.

Montreal Police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere said Wednesday they are taking over the Vancouver investigation after packages were found Tuesday at two Vancouver schools. One contained what appeared to be a human hand. The other contained what appeared to be a human foot.

The suspect in the dismemberment case, Luka Rocco Magnotta, is expected to be extradited from Germany for the killing of Jun Lin after he was arrested in Berlin on Monday.

The case began last week when body parts were mailed to the headquarters of Canada's Liberal and Conservative parties.
