Can You See Something Wrong With These Crop Circles?

Crop circles have been entertaining and baffling people for years.

But can you spot something even more strange than usual about these ones?

If you look closely, you might notice what former crop circle artist Matt Williams spotted when he took these pictures of some circles near Silbury Hill in Wiltshire with his drone.

According to Mr Williams, these creations fall short of the normal standard of crop circles and might even be the handiwork of someone drinking on the job.

“There are clearly one or perhaps two of these designs which have mistakes in them,” he said.

"It is a common misconception that people who make crop circles fall out of the pub and into the field to create a crop circle - that’s not normally the case.

"You have to be quite precise. You’ve got to have the correct equipment and you just cannot do it without a tape measure.

"But these designs are a little bit wonky in places. And that could be either down to whoever is doing them being a new, amateur team - or a because they’re not sober.

"If you go around trying to make crop circles while drinking, you’re going to make some bad mistakes.”

Crop circles usually appear around this time of year, when the good weather and rich yield creates a blank canvas for the mischievous mystery ‘men’.

Mr Williams first spotted these off-kilter pieces when he photographed them with his drone last month.

Despite making crop circles himself for about 20 years, he’s steered clear of creating them ever since he became the first person successfully prosecuted for the offence, but now takes to the skies with his drone whenever they appear.

He said: “I do believe in some pretty strange stuff - I’ve seen black figures in the field - we believe there is something weird going on.

"With these ones, the appeared over the course of about a week. One was a two-phase job, which changed over the week.

"They’re definitely interesting things. People come from far and wide to see them.”
