But whether people believe an assault claim usually has a lot to do with politics. For instance, most Republicans generally told pollsters they did not believe Blasey’s allegations against a Trump nominee to the Supreme Court. Today, they are far more likely to say that they believe Reade’s allegation against the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Yes, but Reade's allegation shave contemporary evidence, Fords had none, indeed was contradicted by her friends.
New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet said on Monday that the paper made a controversial change to its report on the sexual-assault allegation against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden after his campaign complained about the wording.
In an interview with Times media columnist Ben Smith, Baquet said the Biden campaign took issue with some of the phrasing in the paper’s report on former Senate staffer Tara Reade’s allegation that Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993.
“No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of reporting, nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation,” the report read. “The Times found no pattern of seThe Biden campaign talking points, which were first reported by BuzzFeed News, instruct supporters to describe the candidate as a “fierce advocate for women” who has never faced any “complaint, allegation, hint or rumor of any impropriety or inappropriate conduct.” The talking points also inaccurately suggested that an investigation by The New York Times this month found that “this incident did not happen.”h asked Baquet. “Why did you do that?”

In recent months, Biden has taken steps that appear to show he understands how a commitment to representation and equity might resonate with women, who make up the majority of voters for Democratic candidates. He has pledged to pick a woman as a running mate and nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court.
One of the women, Lynda LaCasse, a former neighbor of Reade’s, said in an interview with The Times on Tuesday that Reade told her around 1995 about her encounter with Biden. LaCasse said she and Reade had been discussing their experiences with abuse and violence when Reade mentioned Biden.
“She said that he put her up against the wall and he put his hand up her skirt and he put his fingers inside her,” LaCasse said, adding that Reade “was devastated. She sounded really upset. She was crying.
Me thinks Biden the DNC and democrats in general are either unwitting dupes or complete and total crisis actors who will say and do anything based solely on percieved political advantage. They roll out the same old props every election cycle : black voter disenfranchisement, war on women yada yada yada !
xual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable.”
The Times subsequently deleted the second half of that sentence, eliminating the description of Biden’s conduct to which women have previously objected.
“I want to ask about some edits that were made after publication, the deletion of the second half of the sentence,” Smith said: Why did you do that !
After serving about half his jail time, he received an honorable discharge from the Marines, according to reports.
As a Retired Marine Gunner, I'm not surprised about that. The upper echelon (E-6 E-9 / WO CWO5 / O1 O10) have always protected their own. Phase-1 Create the False Impression that you're investigating it, Phase-2 Sweep it under the carpet, Phase-3 get rid of and classify the victim as a trouble maker, a non team player. Things haven't really changed much.
I’m sorry that happened to her, but only in the modern Democratic Party is being a victim a platform and credential for running for public office.
This was in 2004. Does this policy still exist in the military? Doubt it as a lot has changed in 16 years. But more importantly, what policies does this candidate propose for her district and the country. Hers story took two minutes to read. She wants two years in Congress. What's her plan for that?
Difference between Reade and Ford? She knew exactly who, when, where amd by whom. Facts that never change are rarely forgotten...
Wait so everyone is supposed to vote for her because of that? Sorry but I’d rather vote on her policy- whatever that may be.
I'm sorry that you were victimized by crime, no one deserves that. But please don't think that it qualifies you to be a leader, and/or influence other people's lives.
Politicians NEED TO BE COMPETENT NOT put in office as to look what happened to me & other eye rolling issues.
Sixteen years ago? So now that she is running for political office her memory of that night has resurfaced so that it might get her votes?
I empathize with her .... HOWEVER, this incident does NOT qualify her for public office.
The main stream does not report on errors the democrats or the Democrat party, that is the real tragedy in America.
