Californians can get fish tacos for less than $1 on National Fish Taco Day: Here’s where

(KSWB) — Rubio’s turns 41 on Thursday, Jan. 25, which also happens to be National Fish Taco Day, and is celebrating by offering some of its West Coast customers 99 cent fish tacos on one day only.

Rubio’s Coastal Grill, home of The Original Fish Taco, is celebrating its 41st anniversary on Jan. 25, and California, Arizona and Nevada customers can take part in the celebration with “throwback prices” of 99 cent fish tacos and healthy options like the California Bowl with Cauliflower Rice and Grilled Chicken or the Wild-Caught Mahi Mahi Two Taco Plate with Cauliflower Rice and Black Beans for those working to keep their New Year’s resolutions.

New California law requires more businesses donate, not toss, excess food

During the one day event on Thursday, Jan. 25, The Original Fish Taco will be 99 cents with a purchase. The limit is four per order, one per person. Just enter FISHTACO at checkout for online and app orders or scan the QR code on the coupon in restaurants.

The first Rubio’s opened in the San Diego neighborhood of Mission Bay in 1983, offering 99 cent fish tacos. Now the company is bringing that back for its anniversary celebration.

Fast food in California is about to get more expensive

Rubio’s says proceeds will benefit WILDCOAST, which works to conserve some of the world’s most significant coastal and marine ecosystems in the U.S. and Mexico.

Rubio’s is headquartered in Carlsbad, Calif., with over 3,000 employees and nearly 160 restaurants.
