California State Parks offering free admission to veterans, military on Memorial Day

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — If you are a veteran, active duty or reserve military service member, you can visit a state park for free next week in honor of Memorial Day.

On Monday, California State Parks will offer free admission to people who have served or are currently serving in the military. The offer will be valid at any of 143 state parks listed on this website.

Fireworks, concerts and more happening in San Diego Memorial Day weekend

Participating parks include Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in San Diego County, Crystal Cove State Park in Orange County and Donner Memorial State Park in Nevada County, among others.

To receive free admission, you must show a valid military ID or proof of discharge other than dishonorable or bad conduct, according to California State Parks.
