Caitlyn Jenner breaks her silence on Trump's transgender military ban

Hours after Donald Trump banned transgender people from serving in the military in just three tweets, Caitlyn Jenner has responded to the announcement.

The former Olympian and self-proclaimed transgender rights activist tweeted:

Jenner has consistently defended her support of Donald Trump, and has apparently reached out to members of Trump's administration to "help them" on LGBTQ issues, according to The Hollywood Reporter

She has previously called Trump out for reversing an action that allowed transgender kids to use the bathrooms of their choice in schools, and recently said on The View that she had hoped Trump would be a "bit more outspoken" in his support of the LGBTQ community he had promised to protect.

Jenner is among the many celebrities and activists that have spoken out against Trump's ban, but some continue to question her continued loyalty to Trump amidst his announcement.

UPDATE 4:39 p.m. PT: Jenner released a full statement on her website calling Trump's announcement an "attack on transgender service members" and a "half-baked idea." She called on Trump to reverse his position on barring transgender people from the military.

She addressed Trump directly at one point, stating, "America’s 15,000 trans service members and 134,000 veterans are much braver than you, Mr. Trump; my allegiance is with them and our country, not you."
