Only 4 weeks jail? The courts have failed. Should be 4 months.
Just for using lame excuses as ' facing pressure at work as a property agent and had consumed copious amounts of alcohol while entertaining clients prior to the incident' deserves another 2 months jail time.
In addition, this guy should be made to drive taxi for 1 year and provide all income back to the good samaritan taxi driver as compensation.
The condo security have also failed their duty. Need to be re-trained.
4 weeks jail is too lenient. What about the security officer standing watching without thinking of calling the police ? What type of security guard is this ?
4 weeks jail is too lenient. It should be 6 months jail
Under the law, a driver has to drive back and return the hp. I think the law has to change to protect the drivers. Have the hp return to the nearest police station when the driver is convenient. After all this is clear that it is not only risky but it cost the drivers time to attend to court case and the fines goes to the courts and nothing for the poor driver who has to loose time and get himself hurt and pay for medical for following a blind rule by LTA.
Just 4 weeks jail? Should be 4 months! Should also compensate the kind cabbie.
Singapore is not like once it used to be, with new citizens and many foreigners. Anyone find anything in future, please hand over to the police and let the police deal with it. Everyone can now thank this "Li Yaojie" guy and the police can thank him for creating more works for them.
police were alerted at 2:10am that morning and arrested Li for threatening, abusing or insulting a public servant. --------------------- thats the charges for. -- what about the cabbie ?? no recourse, no compensation, no charges ?? on ... its common folk, no extra cash to seek justice.
What type of Guards they employed. They should be sacked. What is theirs job scope and are they trained. The punishment for 4 weeks jail is too light. It should be at least 8weeks jail to prevent further incident happen again and staying in Condo does not give you the right to bully. What so big deal leaving in a Condo and sill living on loan.
Li YaoJie? I'll remember this name, when I'm buying/selling house. If not I kena beat
Based on personal experience, these condo security guards are mostly thrash. The guards should have tried to stop the abuser. Luckily, there is a video available. The cabbie should be compensated. The abuser should be jailed and caned. His license as property agent should be revoked. It's not safe to have such a character serving the public.
Under the influence of alcohol is not an admissible reason for assaulting others. Otherwise everyone will take this as a precedent to hit others. There are passengers who are drunk and give generous tips. This abuser is ungrateful towards the cabbie for returning his handphone and has an innate ill-intent towards another fellow human being.
This case shows honesty not the best policy... in future better keep what you find:-((
Cabbie drove off from man abusive but yet the condo guards can even waved the victim to return to scene. Omg, am I sane to see that?
