May 23—Each Thursday, courts-beat reporter Samuel Lisec will assemble a bulletin of local criminal activity reported by C-U police.
CHAMPAIGN
* 70 block of East Washington Street: Officers responded to a fight on May 17 at a local homeless shelter.
* 400 block of Briar Lane: A woman reported on May 16 that she was battered during a civil sale of items.
* 3900 block of Summersage Court: A man was arrested on May 16 after he delivered food to a residence, but the resident didn't fully pay for it, so he damaged the resident's door.
* 1700 block of West Bradley Avenue: A man was arrested on May 16 after he wrecked his car and walked away from the scene.
* 4000 block of Crowwood Drive: A juvenile attempted to steal a car from an apartment complex on May 15 and was taken to the Juvenile Department of Corrections.
* 2900 block of Robeson Park Drive: A man reported on May 14 that he was receiving threatening messages and calls from an unknown individual.
* 2400 block of West Springfield Avenue: Police took a report on May 14 of a burglary to a motor vehicle.
* 600 block of East University Avenue: An attempted motor vehicle theft was reported on May 13.
URBANA
* 1200 block of East Harding Drive: Two unknown people displayed a firearm and demanded drugs from a man on May 18. The man was then stabbed by one of the offenders, and the two fled after taking an undisclosed amount of cannabis from him.
* 2200 block of East Washington Street: Unknown offenders stole a couple's dog from the front porch of their residence while it was left unattended on May 18.
* 1800 block of East Florida Avenue: Three unknown persons fired multiple gunshots toward an unknown person while the victim was in their vehicle on May 18. The suspects and victim were not immediately located.
* 700 block of Sunset Drive: An unknown person or persons fired multiple gunshots on May 18 at an unknown person or persons on a public roadway.
* 900 block of Welch Drive: An unknown person stole a woman's purse while she was at the pool of a local apartment complex on May 17.
* 2000 block of Vawter Street: Multiple people discharged firearms at each other on May 17. One person was shot multiple times by an unknown person outside a local apartment complex.
* 300 block of West Elm Street: An unknown person entered a man's unlocked vehicle on May 16 and remained inside without permission.
2000 block of Easy Street: An unknown person broke the window of a man's residence on May 15.
* 600 block of West Elm Street: An unknown person entered another's property on May 15 and damaged their laundry machine while trying to steal money from it.
* 2000 block of Fletcher Street: A man sprayed another person with a bug control chemical on May 15. The victim then punched the man.
University of Illinois
* 200 block of East Springfield Avenue: Two reported runaways from Cunningham Children's Home were returned to the facility on May 18.
* 30 block of East Daniel Street: Officers observed several individuals attempting to set a fire in a residential alleyway on May 15. Several fled, but two people were arrested.
* Green Street and South Chestnut Street: Officers responded to an attempted robbery on May 16 and arrested the suspects.
* 1200 block of West University Avenue: A man was arrested on May 14 after he was found having failed to register as a sex offender while trespassing on university property.
* 300 block of Chalmers Street: A person reported that her motor vehicle was burglarized while in a parking garage on May 14.
* 200 block of East Green Street: Officers took a report of a residential burglary on May 13.
* 500 block of South Third Street: Officers took a report of a residential burglary on May 13.
* 600 block of South Fourth Street: A person's mo-ped was reported stolen on May 12.
