‘Buy a Brick’ program returning to Dover Township

(WHTM) – Folks in one midstate municipality have a chance to etch their names on a local landmark.

Dover Township, York County is selling personalized bricks.

A new round of them is being laid down at Brookside Park outside the historic carousel building.

The Buy a Brick program started in 2011/12 and they only do this every so often when they order a lot of bricks at once.

Now is one of those times they’re taking orders.

Chalet Harris, the Dover Township Parks and Recreation director said, “We have some people who are putting one in for their businesses names, some people honoring people who’ve passed people, honoring a special date. But we have a lot of weddings here. I got married here, so I’m making one for my husband and I.”

Bricks cost $75 for two lines or $100 for three lines.

The money will go to the Parks and Rec Department. If you’re interested call the Dover Township administrative office at (717) 292-3634
