Burning oil tanker causes brush fire, partial closure of Highway 119

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A tanker truck that caught fire caused traffic to be diverted on Taft Highway Friday afternoon.

On April 19, a burning oil tanker started a brush fire on the north side of Highway 119, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Page. The truck caught fire around 2:10 pm., near Highway 119 and Golf Course Road.

Westbound Highway 119 has been shut down at Tupman Road, according to CHP. Traffic is being diverted down Golf Course Road.
