Bungee-jumping picture of Will Smith looks just like Uncle Phil

Hanging upside down and growing a salt & pepper beard has had a quite astonishingly transformative effect on Will Smith.

This image – currently going viral – finds the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star looking the spitting image of Uncle Phil.

Attached to a bungee rope, Smith filmed himself with a GoPro camera as he launched himself off the Victoria Falls 111-metres above the Zambezi river in Zimbabwe.

However, rather than his fearlessness, it’s this still (his head’s even the same shape!) from the video that has become the takeaway image.

As one quick-thinking Reddit user remarked (after three): “Now this is a story all about how, my face looks fat from upside down, I like to take a minute just sit right there, I look like Uncle Phill (sic) when I fly through the air.”

Amazing.

One slightly depressing thought, however, for those Will Smith fans of a certain age – at the age of 48, Will is now older than the actor James Avery was when he started on the ‘Fresh Prince’.

Avery was 45 when the first episode aired in 1990. Sadly, he died at the age of 68 on New Year’s Eve, 2013, following complications from heart surgery.
