A Bunch of ‘Downton Abbey’ Stars Are Reuniting for a New Movie
Just when you thought you couldn’t wait any longer for the Downton Abbey movie, a handful of the BBC series’ regulars are starring in a brand-new film together called The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Don’t let the whimsical name deter you. Based on a New York Times best-selling book, this World War II-era film stars Lily James (Lady Rose) as a struggling writer named Juliet Ashton whose work finds purpose thanks to a book club called the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. And guess who’s in this clunkily named book club? None other than Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay (Lady Sybil) and Penelope Wilton (Isobel Crawley). Matthew Goode (Henry Talbot) is also along for the potato-peel ride, playing Juliet’s closest confidante.
A U.S. release date for the film has yet to be announced, but it’s set to premiere in April in the U.K.
In the meantime, we’ll be writing petitions to the Downton Abbey producers to hurry up with that movie script development.
