Bulls reportedly closing in on deal with Jabari Parker
The Chicago Bulls are close to reaching a deal with Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker, ESPN’s Adrian Wajnarowski reported on Friday afternoon.
Parker, a restricted free-agent, and the Bulls are currently progressing on an offer sheet deal that the Bucks aren’t expected to match, and they could have a deal finalized by Sunday, according to Wojnarowski.
Parker was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, though has suffered two ACL tears to his left knee already in his career. The Chicago native averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game during the 2016-17 season for the Bucks, though he only played in 51 games. Parker played in just 31 games last year.
Parker graduated from Simeon High School in Chicago, where he was twice named Mr. Basketball in Illinois. As long as he stays healthy, Parker could be a key piece in the Bulls’ young core of players next season — including Zach LaVine, who just agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal with Chicago this offseason.
