Bullet found in toilet at Conway Middle School; student will be disciplined, district says

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A student will be disciplined after a bullet was found in a toilet at Conway Middle School Wednesday afternoon, according to an Horry County Schools spokesperson.

Students found the bullet in the eighth-grade boy’s restroom and reported it to staff members, spokesperson Lisa Bourcier said in an email to News13.

All eighth-grader students were placed “in a “HOLD safety protocol” as a precaution for about 40 minutes while school administrators and a school resource officer conducted an investigation, Bourcier said.

The student who brought the bullet to school was identified and will be disciplined, Bourcier said. Criminal charges are possible.

“We would like to commend our students for immediately reporting this incident to a staff member, and we will continue to educate our students on the importance of if you see something, say something,” the district said.
