Need a guide for when you decide to free yourself of the burdens of western life and head into the wilderness? Good, because we have one for you.

An unnamed gentleman, who says he is located somewhere in far north Queensland, Australia, operates a fascinating YouTube channel under the title, Primitive Technologies.

In a nutshell, he builds a fairly sturdy and weather-proof grass hut in this video, apparently using nothing but the environment around him. Clearing a flat space on the forest floor with just his hands and feet, he sets about making the hut foundation with branches and vine-made ropes. He uses sharpened stones to cut clumps of dried grass for the walls before tying it all together.

The end result is a bush palace fit for any apocalypse or accidental bush walk gone wrong.

Whether you're in need of a bow and arrow, at risk of freezing to death or needing to craft yourself an axe from stones and branches, this guy has you covered (with a grass roof).
