Defeating the Arizona Cardinals last week, the Buffalo Bills come into this Sunday’s game against the rival New England Patriots with their share of momentum. Unfortunately for the Bills, I have my doubts already that the team can and will defeat the Patriots, that is, without lady luck being on their side.

It also doesn’t matter to me who starts at quarterback for the Patriots. Both Jimmy Garappolo and Jacoby Brissett were throwing in practice on Wednesday. At least one of them should be ready to play. No matter what though, the Patriots will rely heavily on their strong rushing attack.

Having 185-yards rushing last week against a talented Texans defense, the Patriots run game will be extremely tough for the Bills defense to stop. The worst possible situation would almost certainly see Garappolo starting at quarterback. This would give the Patriots another truly terrifying piece in their offensive attack.

Focusing more on the Buffalo Bills defense, I am currently not convinced that they can stop the Patriots offensive attack. Yes, the defense played well against the Cardinals last week, allowing their potent offense to only score 18-point. However, one week does not completely make up for the week two debacle against the Jets.

Moving onto the offensive side of the ball, the situation in my mind is even more up the air. Yes, the Bills scored 33-points against Arizona and did so with a tremendous rushing attack. However, they only recorded a total of 297-yards. That’s rushing and passing combined.

Add to that the problems with injuries and such going on and the Bills may have a real problem on offense. Sammy Watkins, Greg Salas, and Marquise Goodwin are all banged up. Tyrod Taylor has had problems in the passing game at times this season. The offensive line — which many believed would be the highlight of this offense — has been dreadful for the most part.

All this goes against the Buffalo Bills when they take on the AFC East juggernauts this Sunday. If the Patriots play like the Patriots, the Bills just don’t have a shot in my mind. However, if lady luck plays her cards a certain way, then we could potentially see the Bills knock off New England in what would be the team’s upset of the year.
