For the third time in three days, Buddy Taylor Middle School in Palm Coast was targeted Thursday with a threat: this time of a bomb, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

The threat was made as student drop off began Thursday morning, the sheriff's office stated.

School buses were rerouted and deputies searched the school and declared it clear. Regular schedules then resumed.

The threats have also impacted Wadsworth Elementary School which is adjacent to the middle school.

A caller also made a threat Wednesday against Old Kings Elementary School in Palm Coast.

In a social media post, the sheriff's office stated it was conducting proactive patrols at schools to ease parents' concerns about "this distraction."

The sheriff's office Wednesday referred to the calls as "swatting calls," a growing national trend designed to spark a police response, including by SWAT teams.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call its non-emergency line at 386-313-4911 or email TIPS@flaglersheriff.com. A tip can also be submitted on the sheriff's office website or its app.
