The Bucs released WR Dezmon Briscoe and signed former Panthers LB Thomas Williams on Thursday.

In 2011, Williams played in seven games with two starts and had 11 tackles and four passes defensed. He entered the league as a fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2008 and has played in 15 career games.

Last season, Briscoe had 35 catches for 387 yards and six touchdowns, playing in all 16 games with two starts.

The Bucs also waived DB Devin Holland, who played in four games and made two tackles last season.

DE Da’Quan Bowers and CB Derrick Roberson were placed on the active/physically-unable-to-perform list. OT Donald Penn was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.
