Bucknell campus ‘all-clear’ after active shooter report

LEWISBURG, UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — According to state police the report of an active shooter on the Bucknell campus turned out to be a hoax coordinated out of Virginia.

Officials reported Friday evening that public safety was responding to an active shooter at Bucknell University.

Around 7:15 p.m. Bucknell University posted on its Facebook page that public safety is responding to reports of an active shooter.

Concerns raised over linked bodies in Wilkes-Barre

Officials noted the campus was on lockdown and all students, employees, and visitors were instructed to shelter in place until further notice.

Bucknell University commented on their original post several minutes later stating that they received the all-clear from public safety and campus is no longer on lockdown.
