Bryant PD: Thieves use emptied fan boxes to steal $10,000 in other items from area Walmarts

BRYANT, Ark. – Police say a group of thieves are still in the wind after using emptied fan boxes to steal thousands of dollars in merchandise from Walmart stores in central Arkansas.

Officials with the Bryant Police Department said they recovered around $10,000 worth of stolen merchandise that was hidden in emptied fan boxes during a string of recent Walmart thefts.

Authorities said the suspects were taking box fans, removing the fan from the box and then filling the box with other merchandise, primarily electric razors.

Police added that there were more than 130 stolen items recovered after the suspects abandoned their vehicle during a car chase in Clark County.

Officials said the suspects have not been taken into custody.

BPD officials said they have been working with the Malvern and Arkadelphia Police Departments and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
