Brush with a few storms through Memorial Day
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — High pressure continues to stave off any rainfall chances for the remainder of today while the active weather remains towards the north and west of us.
We will need to watch for shortwaves of energy that ride along the stalled frontal boundary throughout the weekend. These impulses will likely fire up thunderstorm complexes across the southeast; however, at this time the ridge of high pressure continues to hold firm, helping these complexes to weaken with only a brush of a few sporadic to stray showers and storms.
The physical front drops more southward heading into Memorial Day on Monday. Will likely see more showers and storms with isolated coverage. This front does pass until Tuesday before high pressure resumes control into the middle portions of next week.
High temperatures will be roughly 5 degrees above average with highs flirting with 90 until the front moves through. Overnight lows will be roughly 5 degrees above average as well with some mornings only dropping into the low 70s.
