Bruno Mars Rocked Some Seriously High Heels at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
If you were paying close attention to last night's broadcast, you may have noticed that Bruno Mars was quite a bit taller during his performance at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (which filmed in Paris last week). Not because of a new vitamin regimen or anything, but because of a seriously high pair of Christian Louboutin heels.
Three-inch heels, in fact. (With red soles, naturally.) Here's a closer look:
And Mars, being the master of understatement that he is, paired the black leather boots with a tuxedo and a great big fur coat.
Of course, if you're going to break the heel barrier for men, you may as well go all out. And Mars definitely did that. Although, to be fair, high heels have actually been seeping into menswear for a while now.
Hedi Slimane was no stranger to a stacked heel on a men's Chelsea boot during his time at Saint Laurent, and, more recently, Balenciaga, Vetements, Hood by Air, and Dsquared2 all debuted high heels for their Spring 2017 men's collections. Like pleated pants and strappy belts, high heels are totally in right now.
Well, sort of. What we see during fashion shows doesn't always make its way to the street. But given the continued blurring of gender lines in fashion, high heels seem like a natural move for the more adventurous among the male half of the species.
And Mars actually does look kinda badass in his. It helps that he's strutting on stage with a parade of beautiful models rather than watching football with the bros at a Buffalo Wild Wings, but even so. If you're feeling enterprising, why not throw caution to the wind and add some inches under your heel? Just make sure to work out your ankles first. Don't want to sprain anything.
