It's become a new tradition for Bruce Springsteen fans to get their photo taken in front of the life-sized Danny Clinch photo of Springsteen in the Transparent Clinch Gallery in Asbury Park.

Everyone's doing it, including Springsteen.

The Boss and Clinch posed for a pic taken by Clinch's wife, Maria Barba-Clinch, in front of the pic on Friday, Jan 21, after Springsteen made the rounds in the gallery.

“THIS guy walks into the gallery yesterday and heads right for the guitars!” said Clinch on social media. “Bruce hadn't been in Transparent Gallery for a while and was genuinely interested in seeing the new images from the Unseen collection. Especially the Clarence Clemons image . Always a good hang! Ya never know who is gonna pop in (peace sign emoji). Thanks Bruce!”

“Unseen” is the name of the current exhibit at the gallery, up since last May, consisting primarily of pics unearthed by Clinch not printed or posted on social media.

The life-sized pic of Springsteen on the boardwalk with his arms crossed is an outtake of the shoot for the 2007 Springsteen album “Magic.”

“This was a different angle where I went around to the other side and you can see the whole of Convention Hall behind him,” said Clinch previously to the USA Today Network New Jersey.

Story continues after gallery

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Clinch posed with the Springsteen pic when the band headlined the Sea Hear Now festival in September in Asbury Park. The fest is co-produced by Clinch, a Toms River native.

Clinch’s pictures have appeared in Rolling Stone, Spin, Vanity Fair, Esquire, GQ and the New York Times Magazine. His ad campaigns include John Varvatos and American Express. He’s been nominated three times by the Grammys for his musical films, and he’s shot the covers of Nas’ “Illmatic,” Johnny Cash’s “Solitary Man” and Kanye West’s “The College Dropout.” He's also shot multiple Springsteen albums, starting with 2002’s “The Rising” and most recently 2020's “Letter to You.”

Springsteen also posed for a pic taken by Clinch with Zack Sandler, music director for the gallery.

“We walked around, looked at Danny’s photographs and shared some laughs,” said Sandler on social media. “I told him I’d consider booking him to play at the Gallery if we could agree on a door deal — he chuckled at the thought. Just another day in Asbury Park.”
