Brrrrr ... Single-digit temps, snow forecast for Oak Ridge area
It's time to get prepared, if you haven't already.
The Oak Ridge area is under a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing and there is a chance of snow from Sunday night through Tuesday, according to the website.
A 20% chance of snow after 1 a.m. Monday is forecast, along with a low around 24. The snow chance increases to 40% later in the day, with the high reaching 34.
The snow chance Monday night/Tuesday morning increases to 50% with the low dropping to 20. The snow chance is 20% Tuesday.
On Tuesday night/Wednesday morning ... get ready for it ... a low of 9.
"Tuesday to Wednesday, high temperatures are likely to stay below freezing with lows approaching single-digits, especially if snow is on the ground. Below zero wind chills are also increasingly possible," according to the hazardous weather outlook statement.
