Browns celebrating 50th anniversary

MONROE — Allen V. and Sharon Brown of Monroe observed their golden wedding anniversary recently. A dinner and celebration took place Jan. 26 at Onstead’s Chateau Aeronautique.

Mr. Brown and Sharon Spears were married Jan. 26, 1974, in Monroe by the Rev. Herbert Fehner.

The couple’s children are Chris Brown of Greensboro, S.C., and Chad Brown of Wyandotte. They also have two grandchildren.

Mr. Brown worked for Guardian Industries of Carleton for 45 years, retiring in 2021. He also had worked for Hun-Ray Tower Co., which was owned by his parents, Hunter and Alda Brown.

A graduate of Jefferson High School, he is a member of Loyal Order of the Moose and Brest Bay Gun Club. He enjoys clay shooting, archery and camping.

Mrs. Brown worked for Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, Riverside Osteopathic Hospital, Mercy Memorial Hospital, Big Boy and Hun-Ray Tower Co. She retired in 2016.

She graduated from JHS and Monroe County Community College and is a member of Women of the Moose. She enjoys gardening and walking their dog.

They both enjoy antique shopping.
