Bronx man, 37, dies after bullet hits artery in his leg: cops

A gunman shot and killed a 37-year-old man in their Bronx apartment building, police said Saturday.

Marcus Henderson was at his building on Topping Ave. near E. 176th St. in Morris Heights just before 6 p.m. Friday when 29-year-old Brandon Austin pulled a gun and opened fire, cops charged.

The bullet hit an artery in the victim’s leg, they said.

EMS rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Cops nabbed Austin at the scene. He was charged with murder, manslaughter, aggravated manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.

It was not immediately disclosed if Henderson was shot inside his apartment or in another part of the building.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.
